FOR THE FILLING:
- 1 pound of lean ground beef
- 1 small head of cabbage, finely shredded
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Prepare the Dough: Mix flour, sugar, salt, yeast, warm water, and oil. Knead until smooth. Let rise for 1 hour.
- Prepare the Filling: Brown ground beef, onion, and garlic. Add shredded cabbage. Season with salt and pepper.
- Assemble the Casserole: Roll out half the dough to fit a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Add filling and sprinkle with cheese. Top with remaining dough. Cut slits in the dough.
- Bake: Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
- Serve: Slice and serve hot with condiments like ketchup or mustard.
